GreenBuilt Home Tour 2018 highlights Greenline among Chicago’s Greenest Homes

We are excited to again be on the GreenBuilt Home Tour, this year featuring 4 homes we’re building at 6100 South Ellis Avenue. This will be the 6th annual GreenBuilt Home Tour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday July 28-29.

In September 2016, the City of Chicago approved the sale to Greenline of 9 lots for single-family homes. Six are on the 6100 block of South Ellis Avenue and 3 are on the 500 block of East 60th Street facing Washington Park.

Each 2-story, 3,330-square-foot home will have 5 bedrooms and 3.5 baths and be fully featured for comfort, health, and sustainability. While the 4 homes to be featured on the tour are under contract, we plan two more on the 6100 block of South Ellis and 3 around the corner on the 500 block of East 60th Street facing Washington Park. Here’s a bit about the tour from its organizers, the Illinois Green Alliance:

The GreenBuilt Home Tour features exceptional, award-winning, and nationally-recognized homes throughout Illinois, which highlight attractive, affordable, and sustainable building practices.  During the annual two-day event, attendees learn ways the built environment contributes to a healthier community.

As the organizers also note, "Because the homes are built better, they deliver measurable savings, comfort, and health to their owners.” We couldn’t agree more.

More summer news! We have acquired three lots on the 6400 block of South Dorchester Avenue, where we plan homes featuring a full basement, garage, and solar-panel roof, starting at $449,000. Construction is planned to begin later this summer. If you’re interested in learning more, please let us know
