Emerald Award from Green Building Commission Honors Greenline

We got great news in mid-April when the U.S. Green Building Council-Illinois Chapter announced recipients of its Emerald Awards for “the best and brightest contributors to a more sustainably built environment.”

We are being recognized for making green building techniques affordable and accessible, as the Commission’s President Brian Imus noted in a news release:

Greenline Homes developer and builder Benjamin Van Horne is proving that green homes can be affordable and accessible to everyone. His most recent project in the Woodlawn neighborhood [Bloom on Marquette] is a LEED Platinum candidate and will produce more solar power that it consumes.

Greenline is in the very good company of 6 “outstanding individuals, organizations, projects and technologies” honored with an award in 2017. Others include Charles Renner, of Cyclone Energy Group, Passive House Institute US (PHIUS), Ozinga, The College of Lake County New Science Building, and Cedar Concepts Corporation.

We’re grateful for the honor and look forward to raising a glass with Brian and friends at US Green Building Council-Illinois’ Limelight event May 18!
